What is the CSS Exam?

css exam complete guideIn Pakistan, Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) Islamabad conducts the Central Superior Services Examination (CSS Exam) to recruit candidates for posts BS-17 once a year. 

Under the federal Government, FPSC Islamabad invites candidates to apply for the required posts in twelve groups. Candidates can prioritize their choices accordingly. It is the discretion of FPSC Islamabad to invite the candidate to one group according to the merit list. 

The DMG (District Management Group) is the most demanded one amongst the candidates. The post of AC (Assistant Commissioner for a district) is a dream post amongst candidates.

It is entirely up to you to prioritize the choice but FPSC reserves the merit for it. May there will be a change in upcoming CSS-2021 due to expected CSS Reforms.

Qualification Criteria

  •  Bachelor’s Degree with at least 2nd division from HEC recognized universities (Pakistan). 
  • An equivalent Foreign qualification of a Bachelor’s Degree from Pakistan HEC recognized universities.
  • A candidate having the 3rd Division-Bachelor’s degree with Higher Division in the Master’s Degree.

Nationality Criteria

The applicant must be a citizen of Pakistani Citizens or a permanent resident of the state of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The domicile is a must for AJ&K permanent residents.

Age Criteria: 

  • The minimum age is 21 years when applying CSS Exams
  • The maximum age is 30 years when applying CSS Exams

Age Relaxation for CSS Exams 2021

  • First Category

  • How much time is enough for CSS preparation?

5-6 months time is considered a good period of time for preparation for the CSS Exam. Even though there are few exceptions that succeeded in getting through the CSS Exam in three months of preparation. Sheer hard work has no substitute but well-directed hard work is required.
