CSS Subjects for Written Examination – Selection, Preparation

CSS Subjects for Written ExaminationThe CSS written exam is entirely different as students have got in the academic times. The CSS selection starts with written tests which consist of twelve papers in total. A group of SIX compulsory and SIX optional subjects are on board.

In compulsory subjects, the candidate has to pass each subject with 40% marks. Similarly, each optional subject needs 33% to clear the paper.

Altogether, the candidate has to reach a winning mark of 600 scores to become a short-listed candidate for medical examination, which is next to come. The CSS written examination is a hard one to crack. Thousands of students apply every year, but around 2% only get succeeded in the written exam.

In a recent survey, ECTI Pakistan found that students are preparing the subjects as they are in academic studies. The required exposure needs some diversified and mature material. That must be world-class.

We found that ‘English’ as a core subject, becomes a significant hurdle to pass the CSS Exam. Not only in the written exam but Psychological test and Viva Voce as well.

Students might be thinking about the grammar only but its more than that. The examiner is seeking the globality of the knowledge as a core competitive ability.

Improper preparation is our second concern. The CSS exam, as an elite selection, needs some specialized training. It must be updated and well-practiced. Our presentation style must be a reader-engaging and on international-standards.
